Dining Experience

It has always been a trade mark of the Fort Armstrong senior living community to have a Restaurant style dining. Menu selections are presented by servers at every meal to continue to promote freedom of choice. To compliment the entrees, a full salad bar is available at lunch and dinner. This consists of variety of fresh fruit, salad makings, puddings and a soup of the day. Ruthie Andersen has been the lead cook of the Fort Armstrong Restaurant since 1991 and continues to pamper all of our assisted living guests in the same tradition the Fort Armstrong founded.

Cuisine Committee Meetings

Our senior care residents are actively involved in our monthly Cuisine meeting which reviews the next month’s menu’s with Arnita Hill our Dining Room Supervisor. After receiving the suggested menu from our Licensed Registered Dietician, Anita will present it to our committee. At that time we add and subtract according to the resident’s desires. We also have a wonderful time coming up with specialty signature meal entrees that only the Fort Armstrong has and of course our desserts are often a topic of praise.
